New beginnings

Welcome to 2021. Is it everything you expected it to be and more?

Let’s face it: the answer to that question is probably ‘No.’

Around October 2020 we all decided that the pandemic would be over if we just made it through the year. Everything was going to be better the second that clock hit midnight.

But it didn’t. And that’s okay.

Not the fresh start we all expected

However, just because the pandemic didn’t go anywhere, that doesn’t mean we can’t make 2021 a better year ourselves. It’s a new beginning, a fresh start. (If you believe in those types of things.)

So what are your plans for 2021? What are you doing to make this year better than the last? Do you have any goals?

I do – grow my business and save money. Quite a big goal, but it’s also the only one I have. So might as well go all out!

Change your mindset

Instead of thinking about all the things that you want to do (like travelling, going out, seeing other people), think about all the things you can do. You can still talk to people (being under lockdown is actually a great way to find out who your real friends are – the ones that still message you!), you can start a new side hustle – if you haven’t yet… You could even plan out the trip of your dreams so all you have to do is book once we can travel again!

So maybe the start of the new year didn’t bring us the fresh start we all hoped for. Maybe not much has changed in the world – for now. But it will. Like all change, it’s just going to take time. And when it comes, you better be ready.
