Back to the basics

Drink enough water. Make sure you don’t eat too little, or too much. Check your sleeping patterns. Simple things like these have the biggest impact on how we feel and are the first steps we should take when it comes to taking better care of our bodies.

Slow down

As you’re reading this post, how are you feeling? What can you see, or hear, around you?

Stopping the things you’re doing and slowing down like this makes you more aware of what is happening around you, and it will help you create memories.

Reconnect

Turn off all technology. Go outside. Meditate. Walk on the grass or over the beach without wearing shoes and connect to the earth.

Get naked

I don’t think people spend enough time naked. It’s the most natural way for us to be – even if it can be a bit uncomfortable at first (that’s just something that society programmed into you). Practice being naked in small steps.

The more time you spend naked, the more you’ll get used to your own body, and the more confident you’ll get.

Remember…

Remember all the things your body does for you, without you having to think about it…

  • your heart beats
  • you inhale and exhale automatically (until I just mentioned it and you suddenly became conscious of your breathing)
  • grows hair
  • controls your body temperature
  • cleans your blood
  • prevents and fights illnesses
  • converts food into energy,

And it does so much more!

This was your daily reminder that your body has to carry you through a lifetime of experiences, and it’s the only one you have. So be kind to it.

    I try to remind myself of this when I’m exercising. My head wants to give up but I know my body can keep going.

    This is very important for me. Our bodies aren’t like robots, we should take care of it and reconnect with it if we want to live longer.

    Thank you. I’ve been taking better care of it by sleeping more. I used to sleep just 3 hours a day and it really took a toll on my body.
