“What have you been prioritising?”
Listening to a podcast, and being asked this question, hit me hard. Because I haven’t been prioritising anything. Not really, anyway. (Watching Dr. Phil on YouTube doesn’t count.)
I’ve just been going through the motions.
But that question got me thinking about all the things I want to do, want to create, and that I just haven’t been doing. Because it’s too much work. I haven’t been going out of my way to get work in. And I miss that feeling of being productive.
I’m not going anywhere this summer (is anyone?). But that doesn’t mean I can’t have a good summer.
What I want to prioritise this summer
Before July started, I decided to participate in Camp NaNoWriMo (writing a novel in 30 days). I gave up after two days. But, July is still going. I might be behind, but I can still write. Maybe not the entire thing, but I would like to make a solid outline.
I want to start doing volunteer work and teach refugees English (already applied and had an interview, just waiting for all the paperwork to be done!).
Finally make that before/after video of my bedroom make-over.
Apply for more (let’s go for 20 – having a number as a goal is easier…) online teaching jobs.
Do a photography course – in the spirit of being more creative. My disposable camera has been sitting on my shelves unused…
So, instead of being a vegetable and not doing much, those are the things I’m prioritising this summer. Getting creative, giving back, and working.
What have you been prioritising during lockdown? (Or have you been going through the motions like me?) And what are your plans for the summer?
Volunteer work is so important. Wishing you the best. Have an amazing summer!
Staying healthy and positive are key for me this summer season. The pandemic has taken a toll on all of our mental health and so keeping sane and in shape is my focus.
Listening to personal development books.
Your plans are good. My plan? I am prioritising to move on during this summer. Lastmonths was harsh on me. Way to harsh and I have decided on being happy.
I’m glad you wanted to volunteer and prioritize all these things you need to do! I admit I procrastinate a lot, but this article also helped me to stop that and focus on what needs to be done. Thank you for sharing this with us!
I think it’s great that you’re prioritizing!
It’s so good to prioritize what you think is important! I want to spend more time with family this summer
I would love to have all of my website projects done but I am actually moving in 1-2 weeks. We’ll see how much I can get done!
Oh wow it sounds quite amazing and interesting one..glad you shared this with us…Thanks indeed for sharing..great work..
I am trying to spend lots of time with my parents and boyfriend. quality time is so important
I’m just trying to spend as much time as I can with my family in whatever capacity I can do it!
I am prioritising to spend more quality time with my husband, with my kids and with myself of course.
Spending more time with my kids is on my summer priority list- along with growing my blog.
