Autumn Bucket List

As much as I love the summer, I’m actually kind of looking forward to autumn. I don’t want the weather to cool down, but I want the cosiness that autumn brings with it. The orange and red leaves on the ground (and kids jumping in after someone has just got them all together so that they all fly away again). Cups of hot coffee. Cuddling up under a blanket and reading a book for hours on end.

Since I live in England, the weather has actually been autumnal for a few weeks now. And I’ve been trying to hold off on wearing warmer clothes because I know I’ll get sick of them. Now that we’re officially at the end of September, though, I feel like I’m allowed to start wearing knit jumpers again. And, since I did a (sort of) bucket list for spring and summer, I figured I’d make one for autumn as well.

My Autumn Bucket List:

  1. Harry Potter marathon
Because what is autumn without a Harry Potter marathon?
  2. Bake a pie from scratch
Last year, one of the mums at the kids’ school gave us a giant grocery bag filled with apples. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we’ll get one again this year because I want to bake the host family a vegan Dutch apple pie.
  3. Find the cosiest jumper in existence
  4. Go to a corn maze
  5. Curl up under a blanket with a book on a rainy day
Let’s face it – I do this almost every weekend and not just during autumn/winter.
  6. Roast marshmallows over a fire
    I FOUND VEGAN ONES
  7. Go to a fair
Last year, there was a bonfire night in the park near our house. I must’ve thought I had a great reason for not going but I can’t remember it now. This year, I do actually want to go.
  8. Run a 5k
Not really autumn-related. I was able to run 5k before the summer holidays started and haven’t done it since. Want to do it again.
  9. Write a ghost story
  10. Go for a hike in a forest or a national park
  11. Have a scary-movie night
And watch all those old scary movies that I loved when I was younger
  12. Write a new book
Autumn means that it’s almost time for NaNoWriMo. I might rewrite/continue writing the story I started last year (I still kind of like those characters and the plot). If not, I’ll have to come up with a completely different story.
  13. Blogtober
Yes, that’s a thing. In October, I’ll be posting something new on my blog every day. This gives me a chance to post some more non-au pair related things and play around a bit more with the type of content that I write.
  14. Drink all the pumpkin spiced lattes in the world

What are some things you definitely want to do this autumn?

Eek! What kind of vegan marshmallows do you use? I’ve been trying to find a good brand, but with no luck!

It has been awhile since I have had a scary movie night, but it is always something I look forward to doing. Especially, during the cooler seasons!

Every year I hunt for the comfiest woolen jumper. Every year I don’t find it until spring hahaha. But I definitely will be looking out for a cornfield maze. Sounds so cool
