What’s In My Au Pair Bag

Let’s go back ten years when everyone on YouTube and in Blogland was doing “What’s in my bag” video’s and articles. I loved watching those videos. Not because I actually listened to the tips people gave on what to carry around, but because it was oddly satisfying to be able to see what other people had in their bags.

Usually, the kids go to school and it’s not necessary for me to have a bag filled with stuff. But on days that I’m watching them all day (and especially if we go out somewhere), there are a couple of things that I always (try to) have with me:

  1. Phone
  2. Wallet
  3. Small emergency kit with plasters, wet wipes and stuff like that
I’ve never actually needed this when I had it with me, but every time I go to the park with the kids without this, one of the kids needs a plaster or something.
  4. Water
Usually two bottles. One for me and one for the kids.
  5. Snacks
Either fruit or muesli bars. This kind of depends on what we have in the house.
  6. Kindle/a book
So that I can read while the kids are running around somewhere and not be completely bored out of my mind.
  7. Tissues
  8. Sunglasses
  9. Reusable shopping bag
In case we decide to go to the shop and get something to eat.

So that’s most of the stuff that I carry around in my bag when I’m with the kids. It’s also stuff I carry around when I’m not with the kids. Just add a coffee mug and a camera and I’m ready to explore a new city.

Well I never liked those videos as I was busy with studies. 10 years back it means I was 15 years old. But tile in my bag i always carry an umbrella, waterbottle, comb, wallet, cell phone, headphones, face wipes, and most importantly my migraine meds. I never need to take any make up stuff because I already look worse.
