Summer 2018 Plans and Bucket List

As you may have noticed in my monthly updates, I like making lists of things to do. The weather has finally been getting warmer; we kind of skipped over spring and went straight to summer. It’s only for a few days at a time, but those few warmer days are enough to get me all excited about the summer holidays.

So what is my summer going to look like? My holiday starts the second week of July because that’s when the host-mum’s holidays start. I’m going to Canterbury for two days, after which I will take the ferry from Dover to Calais and drive to the Netherlands, where I’ll be for just over two weeks. Then, I’ll come back to England, go and see Hamilton in London (still can’t believe I got tickets for that one) and spend a few days in Aldershot (the host-family won’t be there) before going away again. Need to give them some family-time!

August starts with me going to Cornwall for five days. Then, straight after that, I’ll drive to Yorkshire before moving on to Scotland. I haven’t completely figured out what I’m going to be doing in Scotland, but I’ll get that sorted within the next few weeks. After Scotland, I’m back in Aldershot for a couple of days, so I can do some laundry and sleep in an actual bed, before going to Bath, where I’ll be for a week.

After that, it’s only one more week before the kids go back to school, so I’ll mostly be in Aldershot that week. Might go out on a few day trips (if I’m not completely exhausted and broke from an entire summer of travel).

Things I definitely want to do this summer:

  1. Get a nose piercing
  2. Go on a road trip
  3. Go to an amusement park
  4. Take an outdoor yoga class
  5. Go camping (I’ve had some bad experiences with camping, but I’m actually sleeping in a tent for almost two weeks this summer. Everyone was shocked when they heard about that plan.)
  6. Attend a concert/festival
  7. Go to the beach
  8. Go to an art gallery
  9. Participate in a 30-day challenge
  10. Watch fireworks
  11. Spend more time outside in general (try to not be a vampire – we can save that for winter)

I’m sure I’ll be adding more things to that list as summer grows nearer, but that’s it for now. I can’t wait!
