A Day in Edinburgh

On Tuesday morning, I left Inverness for Edinburgh. This was the second time I’d been to Edinburgh and I absolutely love this city. I only had a day and a half, but as I had previously already spent a couple of days in this city, it was perfect.

Last time I visited Edinburgh, I mostly stayed in the new part of town and the gardens. This time, my hostel was in Old Town and so I spent most of my time there. I walked up to Edinburgh Castle, something I hadn’t done last time, and enjoyed the view from there. I went on a Harry Potter tour (which was a bit disappointing since I already knew everything the tour guide told us), had breakfast at the Elephant House and visited the street that inspired Diagon Alley. I basically did everything that had anything to do with Harry Potter. And then I went to a cafe and outlined a story – in preparation for NaNoWriMo…

Edinburgh really is a gorgeous city and the difference between the old and new town is extremely interesting. I have to say that I prefer the old town because of all the small cobbled streets and fun shops that you can find there. Looking back, I think I probably had the most fun in Edinburgh and I am definitely going back here in the future.
